Ariana Madix confirms future of her hosting Love Island USA after they ‘cut a lot out’
She's finally addressed those rumours
Ariana Madix has confirmed the future of her hosting Love Island USA, amid rumours she’s leaving the show. She replaced Sarah Hyland from season six onwards, and is all set to be fronting Love Island Games as a result of her success with hosting.
She’s now come out to reveal she’s “not leaving” but does admit that producers “cut out a lot” when editing the show. Basically, there was an Aftersun segment that made people think the show was preparing to say goodbye to Ariana, especially as she was getting emotional.
Two years is the longest time the Love Island USA series has kept the same host, but Ariana has finally told us: “See you guys really soon,” in a bunch of comments on a TikTok video, where loads of the contestants referred to her as their “queen Ariana.”
The video had the caption: “This was definitely Love Island giving Ariana her farewell. She really is gone after tomorrow. Next season is going to feel so different.” And when someone said they could “never replace her,” she replied, “Thank you. I’m not leaving.”
Ariana called out viewers throughout season 7 for their treatment of contestants, and some thought that was the final straw for her. One thing we do know for sure, is that Ariana is hosting the Love Island USA reunion on August 25, alongside Andy Cohen.
Another thing that contributed to rumours she is leaving is that she said, “I miss you guys already,” just hours after the show ended, and said it was the “last slow mo of the season,” in a caption of the recent finale episode.
As Ariana is so busy with not just Love Island USA, but Broadway, it makes sense that everyone thinks she’s too occupied to host again. She also said on Aftersun: “I just want them all [islanders] to know how much I genuinely really love them and appreciate them.”
