Reality TV star pardoned by Trump spills the tea on what life in jail was REALLY like
This sounds horrific
In a super shocking turn of events, formerly incarcerated reality TV stars, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were released from prison early in May this year. The Chrisley Knows Best stars received a pardon from President Donald Trump and are now “free and clean.” Since their release, Todd and Julie appeared on their daughter’s podcast and shared their experience of what life behind bars was really like.
The reality TV stars were pardoned by Trump
In January 2023, Todd and Julie Chrisley were sentenced to a combined 19 years in jail.
However, the couple’s sentences were later reduced, and then, in a surprising turn of events, they were officially pardoned by Trump.
Although Todd and Julie were found guilty of tax fraud in 2022, the President had them released this May.
On May 27, they were pardoned, and the following day, the couple was released.
Trump told Savannah Chrisley, the couple’s daughter: “It’s a terrible thing, but it’s a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean, I don’t know them, but give them my regards and wish them good luck.”
Todd speaks on his reality of life in prison
After being convicted of tax fraud, Todd spent just over two years behind bars at Florida’s Federal Prison Camp Pensacola.
Appearing on Savannah’s Unlocked podcast, he lifted the lid on what he says went down within the prison.
During Todd and Julie’s sentence, the two shared some details, including the conditions they were living in and the treatment they received.
In an interview with Chris Cuomo via Today, Todd spoke of how the food available was “out of date” and that the prison was “disgustingly filthy.”
However, Today said: “NewsNation reported officials told them the food served was nutritious and the facility was up to date.”
Now, Todd is making more claims about the prison. He said he really didn’t get along with the staff in the jail.
Speaking to Savannah, Todd explained that the other inmates weren’t really an issue for him, but the correctional officers were.
“I told C.O.s, correctional officers, and staff off,” he explained.
In true Todd style, he then said he went about making it his mission to throw negativity their way: “I was surrounded by miserable human beings. And every day, I got up and it was my sole intent to make their life even more miserable because they were there to make our lives miserable.”
