The signs were there from the start
Ashley and Tyler‘s current divorce is the main talk of the Love Is Blind community. She’s come out to say that they split because of Tyler being a sperm donor and the secrecy surrounding it, but there were signs on the show.
Love Is Blind’s Tyler was a sperm donor for a friend
Tyler was a sperm donor for his friend, Bri Thomas, who became a single parent unexpectedly, and her ex-wife. He helped them conceive their first child together. When the couple split, he became a co-parent of the child.
Bri went on to naturally conceive more children, who Tyler helped raise. But during the show, he claimed he didn’t know what the kids looked like and didn’t have much of a relationship with them.
“Those kids, that family, they did not sign up for this,” he told Ashley on the show. “Things that shouldn’t be happening are now happening.” When more news of his relationship with them leaked, he said Ashley knew about it.
Ashley ‘felt robbed’ of the truth from Tyler
When Ashley first found out about Tyler being a sperm donor to multiple children, she “felt robbed of not having the full picture”. Even once they’d gotten married and moved in together, Ashley had her doubts.
“Omission is a lie, so, I truly wish he gave me that opportunity earlier on to make that decision because I felt robbed of not having the full picture,” Ashley told Tudum, but said she “understands why” at the time.
She added, “I now understand why he wanted to protect their identity and why it was important for him to see where things went with us first. It’s not a factor in our lives right now and if it does become one, we’ll tackle that together.”
She said it was ‘insulting to her intelligence’
Ashley said that Tyler not telling her the truth was “insulting to her intelligence” to believe that she wouldn’t have a total understanding of his complicated situation. She added, “He is a good person, who went in a little too deep.”
She said that he “didn’t know what to do next” while she “was aware and took on what I wanted to. This is a once in a lifetime kind of love.” However, they’ve since unfortunately split over the same situation.
