Inside Jen and Zac Affleck’s marriage: Where the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars stand now
It's been something of a rollercoaster
It seems that there’s a common theme for a lot of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars in that their relationships end up being rollercoaster ride-esque. People have been early anticipating season two’s arrival. But, before all the drama unfolds, let’s get into where one couple stands. Here’s a rundown of what’s going on for Jen and Zac Affleck.
Jen and Zac got married within one year
After getting up to speed with a lot of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast members, it’s not unusual for the stars to get hitched pretty early on in their relationships.
Some were quite young when they tied the knot, too, like the now-divorced Layla Taylor and Clayton Wessel. Layla was 19 when she said “I do.”
Jen and Zac also had something of a whirlwind romance. They met on a dating app called Mutual when Jen was 18 and Zac was 21, per Business Insider.
They then got engaged within six months and married a year after first meeting.
Two years later, the couple welcomed their first child, Nora, and in 2023, they had a son together named Lucas.
Divorce threatened their relationship
During Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season one, people saw Jen and Zac’s relationship rocked by threats of divorce.
The ‘d word’ came after Jen and her other co-stars were potentially set to attend a Chippendales show and Zac wasn’t happy about it.
Now, in season two, we’re set to see the couple working on their romance.
Jen revealed in the first episode of the show that she and Zac separated between filming the two seasons.
Speaking on The Viall Files last September, Jen explained where she was at in her marriage, telling Nick Viall that she and Zac had been doing “nonstop therapy since the show ended.”
“Our relationship isn’t perfect… but I’m not walking away right now because I love him.”
Season two of the show also sees the couple make a big announcement – they’re set to welcome baby number three into their family.
At the time of writing, Zac and Jen are giving their relationship all they’ve got. They’re set to become a family of five. And, by the looks of things, they were willing to go to any lengths to make things work.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Jen said that ketamine therapy was a “game changer” for their marriage.
Jen said: “…I never thought I would try ketamine. But when you’re looking for anything to help, you try anything.”
