Kourtney Kardashian opens up about ‘difficulties’ in her marriage with Travis Barker
They're just like any other couple
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have been married since 2022, but it hasn’t always been easy. She recently admitted to having “difficulties” in their marriage, despite appearing all PDA most of the time. They’re more individual than we realise, with Kourtney admitting on The Kardashians recently that they have very different personalities.
Kourtney Kardashian says marriage to Travis Barker needs ‘balance’
Travis’ pace of life is pretty fast, Kourtney has revealed on The Kardashians. She told cameras, “I would say he tries to squeeze in as much as he can into a day.” Kourtney, meanwhile, is trying to slow her life down and focus on her family. “So I am balancing me trying to slow all of my life down, mixed with doing all the things that he wants to do,” she added.
She’s opened up in the past about how she’s practically a stay-at-home who wants to focus more on her kids, Mason, Penelope, and Reign, with her ex Scott Disick, as well as baby boy Rocky, who she welcome with Travis at the end of 2024. Previously, Kourtney has been more of a career woman, putting her all into her wellness brand Poosh.
They have a large blended family, as Travis is the father of three children from previous relationships: Alabama, Landon, and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, who he helped raise in his former marriage with Shanna Moakler. So while Travis is often out playing drums with his band, Blink 182, Kourtney is less noise and more calm.
She opened up about their completely opposite energy
While Travis is “more impulsive,” Kourtney has to try to keep up with him. She said how it’s not always easy because he wants to do things to stay busy while she is much more content just staying around the house. “I think we both just wanna make each other happy, but right now, I think he’s a little bit more impulsive [whereas] I’m really happy and comfortable at home,” she revealed.
They were friends for 10 years before actually turning a platonic relationship into something romantic, and it moved super fast. They were engaged for a year before tying the knot, and welcomed a baby, which is believed to have brought the couple even closer. Kourtney said, “It is really important to both of us that we show up for each other and that we can support each other.”
She added: “I know it means a lot to him and I know it means a lot to me when he’s there for me. It’s everything to have that.” Kourtney is often spotted attending Travis’ band tours with him, which is a far cry different from their homey lifestyle. They only moved in together in June 2024, as Kourtney said they “took their time” as the “kids are all so comfortable in their spaces.”
