Abbey opens up about ’22 years of challenges’
During Love on the Spectrum season three, people get to see Abbey and David seemingly living their best life.
But, per a recent Instagram post, she hasn’t always been “confident, kind, and full of life.”
The post’s caption reads: “What you might not know is that she’s spent 22 years in speech therapy.”
Speech therapy, as well as “other interventions,” have enabled Abbey, who has autism, to “truly feel part of this world.”
Love on the Spectrum’s Abbey learned to swim
At just two and a half years old, Love on the Spectrum’s Abbey was diagnosed with autism.
Speaking to her followers, she explained how “life back then was so much harder.”
Abbey added how her “brain wouldn’t do what she was telling it to do when she was a little girl.”
“Now that I’m an adult woman, life is easier and I can manage my autism now,” she said.
Listing off her achievements, Abbey says she now has her own hat business, an amazing boyfriend, and she also learned how to swim and loves going to waterparks every summer.
These days, she and David are doing all kinds of activities, going on safaris, and attending weddings.
After seeing that Abbey was the wedding guest who caught the bouquet, it looks like people are dying for David to propose now!
