Kourtney Kardashian is getting major backlash after posing at a ‘toxic waste’ protest
She was seen marching with campaigners
Environmental activist Kourtney Kardashian is getting a load of hate after she was spotted at a protest which argued against the dumping of toxic waste. She posed for pictures with campaigners and was seen walking while holding a sign at the protest, which garnered a load of cameras and publicity. So what’s she doing there?!
Kourtney Kardashian was spotted at a toxic waste protest
Kourtney has been spotted fighting against the dumping of toxic fire waste in Calabasas, alongside campaigners that held signs reading things like, “Calabasas is not an ashtray,” and “No fire waste in residential communities.” Kettleman Hills in Calabasas has previously been used as a dumping ground for toxic waste, resulting in increased pollution and health hazards for residents.
It wasn’t just Kourtney who opposes dumping toxic waste, but Kim Kardashian too, who wrote on her Instagram Story: “It’s important to understand that toxic ash and/or waste should never be disposed of in regular landfills or dumps due to the environmental risks.”
She’s getting loads of backlash
Although some people think Kourtney is supporting the environment, most people are slamming her for encouraging people to “dump their waste in poor communities”. As Calabasas is a wealthy area, many are convinced she’s “not seeing the poor as real people” and being “out of touch” because of her wealth.
One person said: “Ya know, people say the rich are out of touch and look down on “the poors”, and I agree that it’s true, but this really drives it home; they don’t even think about poor people at all, poor people are NPC Sims to be used, ignored, and discarded as needed.” Another penned: “They don’t care for the environment. They only care when it affects them. The Kardashians are among biggest private planes users.”
