Luann de Lesseps claims she went to a restaurant after hearing film actor, Hugh Grant, was there. She says they shared a smooch, but Andy Cohen, who is friends with both of them, says nothing happened.
The Real Housewives of New York City has seen Luann de Lesseps share everything from her romantic encounters to her cabaret performances. But “kissing Hugh Grant” is not what we had on our bingo card.
Luann de Lesseps rushed to restaurant
Luann de Lesseps was told her family were sitting in a Hamptons restaurant, where Hugh Grant was casually having dinner. She urged her brother to get the table next to the Love Actually actor.
“I said, ‘Sit me right behind him.’ I pushed out my chair real fast and I bumped into him — flirting 101 — I bumped into him and said, ‘Oh I’m so sorry,’” de Lesseps claimed during a TooFab interview.
She first teased an alleged hook-up with Grant during the November 11 episode of Watch What Happens Live. When Andy Cohen said “never have I ever hooked up with someone famous,” she waved a flag.
“Remember Hugh Grant?” she asked, to which Cohen replied, “Well, nothing happened.” However, she then responded to the Bravo executive producer, “Well, making out! That doesn’t count?”
However, de Lesseps didn’t give a time stamp on when this alleged incident happened. She was married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps from 1993 to 2009 and Tom D’Agostino Jr. from 2016 to 2017.
Hugh Grant has been married to Anna Eberstein since 2018, who he recently stepped out with at the Berlin premiere of Grant’s new film Heretic, two days after de Lesseps made the claims.
Reality Tidbit contacted Grant’s representatives for comment. He has since clarified the timing of 15 years ago, when he met a RHONY star in a restaurant – but doesn’t remember kissing or doing shots.
She recalls ‘kissing’ Hugh Grant
Lesseps recalls how she ended up kissing Hugh Grant, who was “tipsy” at the time. He recognized her immediately, she claims, because they are both friends with Andy Cohen.
After de Lesseps “bumped into” Grant, she offered to buy him a drink. She said, “I go, ‘I’m so sorry. Can I buy you a shot? I feel terrible.’ He goes, ‘OK, but I’ll come have a shot with you if you do one with me.’”
De Lesseps added, “Before you know it, we are taking shots and making out… heavily at the table! My brother was like, ‘I can’t believe you’re making out with Hugh Grant’, and I was like, ‘Neither can I.’”
