Amy was hit with cancer news as she tried to find her Prince Charming on MAFS UK. She was whisked off her feet by Maltese groom, Luke, as she looked after her father following his cancer diagnosis.
Hoping her father could attend her wedding on Married at First Sight UK, Amy opened up about how hard life has been since he received his diagnosis. Her brother, Jason Taylor, was also diagnosed.
Amy opens up about father’s diagnosis
Amy became emotional on MAFS UK, after revealing her father, George, has cancer. The wedding coordinator’s Dad was incredibly happy to be there for his daughter.
George told cameras, “Amy is not only my daughter, she’s my best friend. Whatever makes her happy makes me happy.” Amy believes her parents would want her to be with somebody classy.
Other priorities that her parents have is for Amy to marry someone with manners and who treats her like a gentleman. Her mom told groom, Luke, that she “gets her good looks from her mother”.

She feared he wouldn’t make wedding
Amy feared her father would not make it to her wedding, but when he was there to walk her down the aisle, she felt “so grateful.” He called her a Princess and started tearing up over her special day.
Revealing she’s always looked after him, fans are top fans of Amy’s father. One viewer said, “The lovely GEORGE …..Amy’s dad, what a lovely gent, he genuinely looked petrified in the back of the car.”
When they added, “Wishing you all the best in your cancer journey George,” Amy replied, “My heart
thank you so much xxx.” He’s been called the “best father-in-law in the world.”
George currently lives in Blackburn and often spends time with his loved ones, including Amy. His Facebook profile picture is of the two of them having a drink, shared in 2022.
MAFS star’s brother ‘cancer-free’
Amy’s brother, Jason Taylor, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He is now cancer-free, as of May, revealing he went to Italy and was finally able to put that chapter of “dark days” behind him.
He thanked his loved ones, including his mum, for messaging him every day. Amy was equally supportive of her older brother, who she appears to be super close, as well as her mother.
Jason said the cancer had not spread around his prostate, which meant he was officially free from cancer. Amy told him, “Cancer is only going to be a chapter in your life, not the whole story.”
