The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on Disney+ is probably one of the most insane shows to come out of 2024. The show follows the lives of Mormon wives living in Utah whose perfect lives aren’t all they seem. The fallout of the swinging drama was also explored, which went down a few months before the show began filming: Taylor Frankie Paul had revealed that she’d gotten a divorce due to her breaking the rules of a “soft swinging” agreement. So, how is Ben Affleck involved in all this Mormon wives drama? His cousin, Zac Affleck was actually one of the stars of the show and played quite a big role in the its explosive action.
Zac and Ben Affleck are actually first cousins once removed. Zac’s dad, Dave, is first cousins with the famous actor. Although Jennifer, Zac’s wife, has never met the celebrity herself.

Jennifer Affleck, Zac’s wife often steals the spotlight on the show. She’s opened up about how hard it has been for her marriage to be dissected to millions of viewers: “It’s scary to have your relationship exposed to the world. We went into the season in a rocky place, but I still wanted to move forward with filming, because that’s what felt right to me, my career, and wanting to provide for my family. Looking back, it’s probably the best thing to happen to us, because a lot of the things they showed were things I didn’t want to acknowledge.”
Despite the heavy-going stuff, Mormon Wives star Jennifer has been poking some fun at having the same first AND middle name as Ben Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez. I knew Jennifer Lynn Affleck sounded familiar!
She’s even got the hair to match!
In an interview with Vulture, she laughed at the media coverage she’d been receiving due to her insane name coincidence: “Jennifer Garner was Jennifer Affleck for a moment there. There was Jennifer Lopez who was Jennifer Affleck, but now switched back to her name. I’m the last Jennifer Affleck standing! I’m the new Jenny from the Block.”
Jennifer is a social media star. She spoke about how it was “never her plan” to do social media but needed to support her husband who was “committed to medical school at the time.” She may not be an heir to the Affleck fortune, but she’s certainly a proactive queen who’s totally killing it on her own!
