Simon Cowell writes affirmation message for his own eyes
Simon Cowell had written an affirmation on his office mirror during the Pop Idol days. Gareth Gates, a former contestant, told My Dirty Laundry podcast, that he discovered the writing one time.
He said, “The first time I walked into his office, I walked in and I saw on the wall, there was a mirror, and it said on the mirror, ‘You are the most beautiful man in the land,’ I swear.”
Gareth recalls how he asked if it was real, to which he claims Simon replied, “Yes darling, it’s real.” The former contestant admits he “can see him saying that to himself in the mirror.”
He has no idea if it was a joke gift or not, though! That was back in 2001, but he now lives in a massive Cotswold home with his son, Eric, and fiancée, Lauren Silverman, which he bought in 2021.
The property is part of a huge renovation project and has five bedrooms, an outdoor swimming pool and a ginormous kitchen. Simon also lives near Britain’s Got Talent judge, Amanda Holden!
He’s ‘always right,’ says Gareth
Gareth bumps into Simon every now and again and “owes a lot” to him. “I was his boy from the start of Pop Idol and was obviously on his record label, we got on really, really well,” Gareth revealed.
The singer added, “He’s a great guy. The annoying thing about Simon is that he’s always right.”
When asked if Gareth would invite him to his future wedding, he said it’s “way too soon,” but agreed he would.
