The craziest moments from Gypsy Rose's episode of The Kardashians

What a week for Miss Gypsy Rose Blanchard! First, she announces her pregnancy, then gets THOUSANDS of pounds worth of baby gifts sent to her by fans and now her meeting with Kim Kardashian on an episode of The Kardashians is out.

Kim Kardashian visited Gypsy Rose at the Four Seasons Hotel in New Orleans three weeks after she was released from prison in December 2023. It all came about after Gypsy Rose tweeted Kim thanking her for including her documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest in her true crime show recommendations.

“Thanks @kimkardashian for the shout out within this list to my 2017 documentary ‘HBO’s Mommy Dead and Dearest,’” she tweeted. “Maybe we should unite forces together to make real change within the justice system.”

After a conversation all about Gypsy’s case with Reform Alliance’s Michael Rubin in the car where she says Gypsy “could be really impactful with like youth and abuse” they meet at the hotel and hug.

“I’m so excited that you live in New Orleans, it’s one of my favourite places ever,” Kim says.

Gypsy replies: “Oh I’m happy you came” and when Kim mentions the food adds: “Oh, the food is amazing”.

Kim Kardashian then asks Gyspy Rose about the first meal she had when she got out of prison. She said: “When I got out, I got to try a steak for the first time. I’ve never had steak before, so yeah, it was actually pretty good.”

Kim reveals she had been following Gypsy Rose’s case for a long time

As they get into the conversation, Kim reveals that she’d known of Gypsy Rose’s case for a while. “Honestly, I’ve been following your case for a very long time so I wouldn’t want to come in and meet with someone that I think can really make an impact just for the sensation of the case,” she said.

“I recognise that you can make a big difference because you can really articulate what you went through and how you got through it.”

In response, Gypsy thanks Kim for “touching her as a topic”. She said: “I give you massive kudos right now, because I think a lot of people are afraid of touching me as a topic.”

“Because I’m too controversial,” Gypsy continued, to which Kim related and said: “Mmm, girl.”

“So I give you like massive props for being like, okay, I’m going to come do this right now. Like this is going to happen,” Gypsy added.

They talk about prison reform

Kim Kardashian then asks Gypsy Rose all about how re-entry to normal life has been and Gypsy describes it as a “whirlwind”.

“Unfortunately we are living at a residence and they are pressuring us to put me on the lease and I won’t pass a background check. I think the system is just… it’s built to fail,” she said.

“It really is,” Kim admits, as Gypsy Rose replies, “I want to bring awareness. I want to be the person I wish I had to guide me, but I feel very new at it, so I kind of feel like, where are my resources? Where do you begin?”

Kim then offers to help. She said: “I can totally help you with that because I had no clue and I think I figured out the best team that can possibly help people and I’m happy to introduce you to all of them.”

“I would appreciate that,” Gypsy Rose says, as Kim adds, ‘We’ll guide you in the right direction and what to do to help.”

“I think that you have such an important future, to help so many people,” Kim says before Gypsy replies: “I hope that I do.” They then hug goodbye in the hotel room.

‘I hope that Gypsy just follows her heart’

Speaking about the meeting after, Kim said: “I hope that Gypsy just follows her heart. I hope she heals, first and foremost, and I hope that she just follows her path of just wanting to help other people.”

Kim adds: “I think she’s like a perfect person to talk to like a younger generation, so hopefully with her help, we can try to bring therapy into more prisons and try to change the way that the system operates.”
