Known as Junior Edwards’ son, who navigates the Bayou river with his son, Little Willie, was hugely missed when he took time away from Swamp People. The History cast member’s appearance has changed over the years, but his main priority is catching those feisty alligators during season.
Is Willie from Swamp People sick?
No, Willie has not spoken out or confirmed the rumors he is sick. After he left the show for months, Swamp People fans worried he had become unwell, with unconfirmed speculation he had cancer.
One wrote: “I have so much respect for Willie… all this by himself! Got to admit I’m concerned for his safety, but I’m glad he’s still going strong.”

Willie returned to the series on January 18, none other than on his birthday. Fans say they are “glad to have him back” and noticed the Swamp People cast member “gets prettier every season”.
One viewer said: “Wish we could see more of Willie, he’s one of my most favorite on Swamp People.” Another penned: “I hope you and everyone else come back, it’s a good show I don’t know how y’all do it.”

Willie’s wife reveals ‘cancer sucks’
Following the cancer rumors, Willie’s wife wrote on Faceboo:, “After many tests, being poked and prodded, chemo and radiation, the person physically changes and they can suffer with sadness.”
She added: “You do not know what it’s like to have fought the fight, or have a loved one who leads or has lead a battle against cancer.” Sherrie also encouraged anyone who knows someone with cancer to share.
Her loved ones commented with well wishes, saying words like “love ya,” but she did not expand on who in her life has cancer. Sherrie and Willie have been married for 23 years and have three children.
