He is the 25-year-old Cotswold resident who entered the Big Brother UK house earlier this season. Henry Southan’s parents have often been brought up by the ITV star himself, as well as his time at a private school…
Henry Southan’s parents
Henry on Big Brother UK’s surname, Southan, has become a major discussion for viewers. He said his parents would describe him as a “snob” while on the show. Come on, he ate his first Pot Noodle recently!
He also has a sister, Harriet Lucy. Henry’s mum Suzy Southan also made an appearance on Big Brother: Late and Live. She said: “I want him back because we’re very close and he calls me twice a day.”
Suzy went to Sutton Girls, where she graduated from in 1978. Although Henry’s father has stayed away from the limelight, his younger sister Harriet is a 33-year-old make-up artist and mom to a son.
His private school background
Henry has spoken of his “beloved matron” who would do his washing for him at boarding school. He went from a private boarding school to university, where he studied food writing.
He is also part of the Old Reptionian Society at university. Repton School, where the likes of Jeremy Clarkson have attended, costs £14,560 per term to board.
From Toddington, Gloucestershire, Henry joked he “basically gets paid to eat a lot and drink a lot”. He admits he would love to go for a drink with Boris Johnson!
Big Brother star is a food critic
Henry, who has a verified tick on Instagram, has more than 5K followers for his food critic role. He has written articles for Vice, British GQ, ES Reveller, Evening Standard, Good Food Guide UK, and CODE Hospitality.
He said on TikTok: “Look I know a lot of you are unhappy with my views on whether you should eat on the Tube or not, but I will say it again, eating on the Tube is gross for many reasons.
“If you are gonna eat on the Tube, make it something that doesn’t crumble, ooze, melt, or smell. The smell is the very very important point here. Smelly food should not be eaten on the Tube. Arrest me!”
