There’s a new housewife on The Real Housewives of Orange Country, Elizabeth Vargas, and she’s already revealed she’s just gone through a divorce. So who is her ex-husband?
Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Orange Country just premiered on Wednesday (October 14th), and there was a brand new housewife. Elizabeth Vargas was welcomed to the group by Kelly Dodd who she’s known for years, and as CEO of the online music company Edge Music she’s bound to fit right in.
In the first episode, Elizabeth revealed that she was going through a divorce, which seems like it’ll be the main focus of her storyline, but who is he? Meet Bernt Bodal.

Who is Bernt Bodal?
Elizabeth’s ex-husband Bernt Bodal is a Norweigan-American businessman and former musician with an estimated net worth of $200 million.
He was the former CEO and shareholder of American Seafoods, and is also a bass guitarist who has played with Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam.
He’s also no stranger to TV, appearing in an episode of CBS’ Undercover Boss in 2012.
When did Elizabeth and Bernt divorce?
Elizabeth and Bernt separated back in 2017, but the divorce didn’t go through until July 2020.
According to Us Weekly, Elizabeth revealed the news of the divorce on her Instagram Story where she wrote:
“You know, I don’t know how I’m feeling today. I’m excited but I’m sad and I – it’s the end of an era – I was with the guy for 20 years. 17 years but divorcing for three. 20 years total of my life and I’m happy but it’s a failure. … I paid an arm and a leg to get divorced and to get what I thought I needed … and here we are transitioning to a new phase in my life and I’m excited.”
The details of the divorce are unclear but Elizabeth revealed in the RHOC premiere that he had an affair and a child with another woman.

Who is Elizabeth’s new boyfriend?
Elizabeth announced in the Season 15 premiere that she now has a new boyfriend, but we don’t know much about him yet apart from his first name – Jimmy.
We’re bound to learn more about Elizabeth’s divorce from Bernt and her new relationship with Jimmy as the new season unfolds.
