Ross Kemp reveals he felt ‘out of control’ on Celebrity Traitors, which explains his paranoia

Now it all makes sense

Ross Kemp quickly solidified his position as the most entertaining person on Celebrity Traitors 2026 after just two episodes with his hilarious paranoia, which likely stemmed from his lack of control.

The EastEnders actor and documentary maker has become a meme after hilariously thinking everyone was trying to murder him in plain sight. They weren’t.

Speaking to the BBC about his time on the show ahead of the series airing, Kemp said he felt “imposter syndrome” because Celebrity Traitors was very different to his usual projects, where he’s normally in complete control. It would explain his insane paranoia.

“Usually, if I was packing to go away for work – maybe a hostile environment, a prison, or I was recently in Colombia, for example – then I have a certain amount of control over what happens. I’m the exec producer. I decide when I get on the plane. I decide when I get in the vehicle. I drive the vehicle.

“We’re a small, tight-knit group on those shoots — maybe three/four people maximum. Whereas Celebrity Traitors is huge and with some of the biggest celebrities in the United Kingdom and beyond. I’ve got a bit of imposter syndrome going on around that.”

He continued: “Unless you’ve got an ego the size of a planet, which I don’t think most people have, then there’s an element of: A, I don’t have control over this. B, I don’t want to let the side down, and C, I don’t want to let my family down by making myself look an idiot. It transcends age groups and class, which I think is really important.

“My kids are absolutely obsessed with it, and they span ages fifteen to eight. I’m a great fan of Claudia, I think she’s very good at what she does, and I think the format is brilliant.”
