Owner of beloved Lady Gaga fanpage returns to internet after two years in Russian prison

Stan pages have been a staple of the internet for years, and though not all of them are created equal, Gaga Daily is undoubtedly among the most notable. 

With half a million followers, Gaga Daily has posted, as the name suggests, pretty much everything Lady Gaga has gotten up to since 2009. 

In 2024, the page went silent, leaving people wondering what happened to Gaga Daily and its admin. With the release of Mayhem, it was active again, but it wasn’t the original influencer posting. 

Now we know what happened.

Gaga Daily was in prison… literally

In a post that is quickly reaching two million views, Kirill, the owner of Gaga Daily, posted a lengthy update for his followers. 

“Kirill here. If you don’t know me, I’m the owner of Gaga Daily, and every social media post you saw from 2009 through 2024 was from me. I never use this account to post anything personal, but I feel like I owe you all an explanation,” he said. 

“In early 2024, I was arrested in my home country for protesting against the government and sentenced to more than two years in prison.”

It’s believed he was posting in support of Ukraine.

He continued: “Throughout the MAYHEM era, this account has been run by my friends Christian and Anthony, who have done such an incredible job. I’m out now, I’m safe, and I can’t wait to get back to doing something I love so much.

“I’m incredibly touched and grateful for all the tweets and messages of support you guys have sent my way. I love this community so much, and it feels surreal that so many people who don’t know each other, whose only connection is something as silly as loving the same pop star, can form such a strong bond that lasts for so many years. Anthony, one of the people who ran Gaga Daily in Kirill’s absence, also posted a response, saying it had been an “honour” to run the page.

He wrote: “As soon as we were granted access shortly before the release of MAYHEM, we stepped right up and did our absolute best to bring the page back to life following a year of inactivity, with the mission to cover the era as swiftly and efficiently as we could, while maintaining the same level of quality and consistency that he had very famously built the page up to be for over 15 years

“We made the decision to keep ourselves anonymous as we initially didn’t know the scope of the situation, so I’m glad to finally share this with you all. It’s been a busy couple of years. Welcome back Kirill!”

For once, the internet is pretty damn wholesome. Most are wishing Kirill the best in his Gaga-themed ventures, and others are just excited for him to catch up on Gaga’s many highlights from the past two years. 

Gaga Daily is back, baby!
