Perez Hilton’s friend provides sad update with the concerning reason he wants Katy Perry to visit

It’s now nearly a month since Perez Hilton’s livestream that resulted in his hospitalisation, and though his body is mending, friends have claimed his state of mind is still a work in progress. 

The graphic livestream, which was eventually taken down by TikTok, saw Perez Hilton self-harming with a knife. At the hospital, he required multiple surgeries and substantial stitching after severe blood loss, but he’s since been moved to an inpatient facility with around-the-clock care. 

Last week, we heard: “Perez suffered significant injuries and blood loss, but whether there is permanent damage is something his family is keeping private.”

Now an anonymous friend has spoken to the MailOnline about his current state of mind, and it just gets more tragic by the day. 

“One minute he’s thinking about moving forward and making plans for when he’s back at work. The next minute he’s talking about walking away altogether,” they said, stating that the blogger is still “not all there.”

Though a judge granted him visitation with his kids, he’s still not “mentally in a place” where that could reasonably take place without making the situation worse for both Perez and his three children. 

“He feels very isolated at the moment, very alone,” the friend added. “He’s being really hard on himself, regretting all these things that he has done and where life is now. He’s despondent. He’s nowhere near ready to get out. He’s got a very, very long way to go.”

Amidst the confusion, one name has reportedly popped up: Katy Perry.

Why is Perez Hilton asking for Katy Perry?

A few weeks ago, people close to the situation slammed the lack of support for Perez Hilton in celebrity circles. Though he rose to infamy for his controversial methods, he’d crafted what he assumed to be long-lasting friendships with various A-listers. Still, there were no flowers, no cards, and no visits from those people. 

In the new interview, the friend said that Perez frequently asks for Katy Perry to come to his bedside. He said they are “best friends” because he “made her into a star.” He even went as far as to say that she “would be nowhere without him.”

Though Katy and Perez were close at one time, and he did champion her career in its earliest days, the source said they haven’t spoken properly in ages. He seems to have “lost a decade”, the friend said, with Perez believing it’s 2016. 

Controversies aside, it’s an incredibly sad situation.
