Love Island’s Jasmine and Kavan finally address age gap and how they really feel about it

She’s six years older than him

Everyone’s still talking about Jasmine and Kavan’s huge age gap after Love Island, and they’ve finally addressed how they really feel about it.

Throughout their time in the villa, people just couldn’t understand what Jasmine saw in Kavan. She’s 27, and he’s only 21, so there are six years between them. People are worried the six year difference means they won’t last, because they’re just in different stages of life and maturity, but they don’t think it matters.

In a new interview with Capital Xtra this week, Kavan was asked: “Jasmine said she never noticed the age gap between you two. Did you notice Jas being older at any point?”

“No. I feel like age really isn’t a thing. I feel like the only way she did show her age was in maturity, the way she spoke, the way she held herself. For me, that was her showing her age,” he replied.

For them, age is just a number, and they don’t think it’s going to get in the way of their relationship. But others aren’t so sure. On Twitter, people think the age gap really shows.

“I think the age difference between kavan and jasmine is so apparent,” one person said. Another agreed that “he’s just not on the same wavelength”. However, others say the age gap wouldn’t be an issue if it was him that was older, which is a fair point.

They’ve been going from strength to strength since leaving the villa. “We’re not boyfriend and girlfriend, but I’d say we’re very much in love,” Kavan said on This Morning. Jasmine added: “I feel like we’re very near that though.”

When asked why they haven’t made things official yet, Kavan said: “It’s now about coming out, living this part of life together, making sure this part of life works. But so far it’s been great, honestly I’ve been loving it. It’s on the way. It’s on that track. We’ve got to be smart here. There’s no point rushing things.”
