The seven best brunch spots in Cardiff to hit this Easter break
Brunch hunts are better than egg hunts
Finally, the long-awaited break off uni and the much-needed morning lie-ins that I know we’ve all been dreaming about. But as much as we all love late mornings, Cardiff’s bipolar spring weather is clearly gatekeeping the sun. So, what better way to get the most out of Cardiff’s spring and the freedom away from uni commitments than a brunch day out.
Cardiff is full of hidden eggs when it comes to brunch spots for date out with your friends. “But my friends have all gone home for Easter” – well, who said brunch can’t be a solo date, just a chill day out by yourself or cramming left-over uni work. So, whether you’re planning a big brunch day out as a group or just an individual who wants to make the most of their break, here are seven brunch spots dotted around Cardiff for you to hunt this Easter Holiday, as well as a bunch of Easter puns that only felt right to include.
1. Pink Kiwi

Calling lovers of all things pink and sweet, this is the brunch place for you. Run by the brightest ray of sunshine, Taslima, Pink Kiwi says no to regular, boring brunches and, instead, serves you with plates of heaven and drinks that will make you smile wider than finding the last hidden Easter egg. The food is halal making it accessible and walking into Pink Kiwi feels less like going for brunch and more like going around to a friend’s house, a perfect comfort spot for solo date or a small group.
2. Haystack Cafe
Haystack Cafe is all things rustic and cosy. Their dim-lit, warm interior is the perfect place to get aesthetic photos for your Instagram story of their incredible food and drinks. Serving you egg-stra generous portion sizes of towering pancakes and loaded breakfast plates, there is no way you’re leaving there unsatisfied.
3. Full Fat Social

Hidden in Cardiff Bay, this cosy spot looks over the bay and beams with sunshine in the morning. Prioritising organic, locally sourced ingredients, Full Fat Social brings a homey, social atmosphere, an egg-celent place for a cute brunch date.
4. Coffee Barker
To give you a hint as to where this stylish cafe is located, Coffee Barker is near Cardiff Castle and will instantly catch your eye if a Parisian brunch is the vibe you’re looking for. From premium coffee and decadent hot chocolate to a feast of brunch staples, Coffee Barker might be on the more expensive side but it’s definitely worth the brunch experience and a mini vacation if you use your imagination. There’s nothing more amusing than springing out of bed to post a fake holiday story on your socials to fool your friends.
5. Bonnie Rogues

Bonnie Rogues goes rogue on sober brunch plans, turning brunch into free-lowing fun; I mean it says it in their name. From 12pm-5pm, Bonnie’s bottomless brunch is 90 minutes of pure bliss and fun with the best food and drinks, and an even better energy. Known for taking things to the next level, Bonnie Rogues also plan big themed brunches with decor to set the scene and entertainment, making brunch the main event. Make sure to book before and hop on over for brunch, booze and a boogey you’ll never forget.
6. Turtle Bay
If laid-back isn’t your style, another great spot for a 90 minute bottomless brunch is Turtle Bay’s Beach Brunch. Everyday until 5pm, they offer an array of food from the iconic brunch staples to their Caribbean inspired plates, they have something to suite everyone’s palette. But if you spent all day searching for that last missing Easter egg and missed the Beach Brunch, don’t you worry. Turtle Bay also does a Midnight Brunch bringing the same brunch atmosphere but at night, because who said brunch had to be in the day. Who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner?
However no matter how you’re spending your Easter brunch plans, if you’re going as a big group or hopping solo, Cardiff is the perfect town. Enjoy the freedom away from uni work, go on a hunt for these top brunch spots and take advantage of the free will to eggs-aggerate as many Easter puns as possible. Trust me, it’s worth the side-eyes.
