Lots of videos have come out alleging negative interactions with Dean Lewis. People are claiming he sent them flirtatious and sexual text messages which made them feel uncomfortable. One of the most popular videos was shared by TikToker Lainey on the 28th of October and now has five million views.

She claimed she met him when she was 23-years old in 2019, and started casually seeing him.

“He was asking if I would be looking all hot and beautiful for him,” she said, talking about his alleged text messages before they met up.

“I knew there would be some sort of sexual nature to us hanging out, but the nature in which everything happened made me really uncomfortable.”

Lainey claimed there was no effort to make her feel comfortable and things escalated too quickly for her. When she started saying she was feeling rushed, she claimed he said: “Do you want to make me happy?”

The other people speaking out about Dean Lewis have said similar things about him allegedly sending overly-sexual texts to his adult supporters, which they are saying creates an uncomfortable power dynamic.

What has Dean Lewis said about the text allegations?

This morning, the singer finally broke his silence and released a long Instagram statement responding to the allegations.

“I understand why people are angry and disappointed after learning embarrassing details of intimate, private conversations and relationships I’ve had with consenting adults over the past decade,” he said. “But I want to emphasise that none of this is illegal.”

Dean continued: “The individuals leading the campaign against me have reportedly acknowledge this, and I’m hurt by any suggestion that I’ve done things that have crossed into illegality.”

He admits that he’s sent embarrassing text messages that he wishes he could take back, and shares his thoughts on fame and privacy.

“Occasionally that flirting leads to consensual intimate encounters or relationships that I thought were private,” he said. “There’s a loneliness and isolation that comes from always having to be ‘on’. Those moments where the isolation and loneliness hit hard is a dark place, and I often tried to fill that emptiness by finding connection.”

Dean ends the statement by asking for grace from his followers. He’s turned off the Instagram comments for this post.
