MAFS UK’s Julia-Ruth explains missing context behind her not discussing intimacy on-camera

The big drama of MAFS this week is that Julia-Ruth and Divarni have been more intimate than they’d let on. Divarni is annoyed other participants don’t know this. Julia-Ruth is annoyed Divarni wants to tell them. Nobody watching MAFS knows what to think about anything, anymore. It doesn’t help that most conversations the couple refer back to happened off-screen. Julia-Ruth has shed a bit more light on the situation. She properly explained her reasons for refusing to talk about intimacy in front of the MAFS UK cameras. I needed this context.

Julia-Ruth shared on Instagram that she feels the topic of consent is “a big one being missed this season”.

She wrote: “As a sexually liberated and empowered woman, I get to choose how I talk about my own body, and my own experiences and decide what to share and what to keep to myself. In this experiment everything has to be out in the open for the other couples to evaluate, judge and so on. Just because we are on TV and ‘all drama must be saved for camera’, [this] doesn’t mean this changed for consent when it comes to sex.

“If I want to ‘have a kiss, see if it works’ and it doesn’t work, or I now feel I need time to figure out how I feel after the act, that is up to me and none of the audience’s/couples’ business.

“The blame in the decision to not talk about our experience lands on me, however this was a mutual decision for many reasons between me and my husband.”

Julia-Ruth hinted “there is more to this story and wrongs on my end”. I guess we’ll see more about this on MAFS soon.
