Inside the decade-long lore between Kylie Jenner and Terror Jr, now she’s officially on their song

Kylie launching her music career with Terror Jr isn’t random, it’s a full circle moment

I’m seeing a lot of shock and confusion regarding the announcement that Kylie Jenner is officially launching her music career as King Kylie, with an appearance on a new single from Terror Jr. To this, I say open the schools! King Kylie – name questionable, I must say – is not just doing a random side quest here. She’s actually fulfilling a truly full circle moment that spans back nearly a decade. And the true pop culture historians know the truth. Now Terror Jr and Kylie Jenner have released their collaboration Fourth Strike – here’s a rundown of all the lore of their nearly 10 years of history and why this isn’t that random and why it IS a big deal. If you’re like me and have a severe case of needing to log off and touch grass, of course.

Terror Jr used to be anonymous

In 2016, way back when – which makes me feel old, there was a viral pop group emerging on the music scene. The song 3 Strikes was becoming a viral hit. Terror Jr were releasing little mini album projects titled Bop City – and crucially, the band were anonymous. Nobody knew who was behind the music and no one knew who the singer was.

Because of this, there were major rumours that the lead singer of the band was Kylie Jenner. The rumour really ran away with itself. Kylie Jenner ended the rumours – and low-key made them spiral more – by saying on Twitter at the time “That’s wild. Not a part of the band.”

She then clarified further on Snapchat “So public announcement: I’m not the singer of Terror Jr or whatever, I love their music but for those wondering it’s not me guys… it’s not me.”

The rumours spiralled because the song had appeared in a Kylie Cosmetics advert.

Terror Jr eventually revealed who they were

Terror Jr came out of the pop music closet after some time. The band members were originally David Benjamin Singer-Vine and Felix Snow, with Felix Snow departing the project. The lead singer isn’t Kylie Jenner, but Lisa Vitale.

The band had a major label debut with Atlantic Records with their first album Unfortunately, Terror Jr. Shortly after that record, they departed the major label and went indie where they’ve released two follow up albums.

The latest single actually featuring Kylie Jenner is a MAJOR full circle moment

Because of al the rumours, it’s actually gagged everyone who was with the band from the beginning that Kylie Jenner is now featuring on Fourth Strike. The song is a spiritual sequel to 3 Strikes and features Lisa Vitale as well as Kylie Jenner jumping on the Terror Jr track with her own verse as King Kylie.

People are calling out the style of the song but have no clue of the lore and how huge this is for fans of Terror Jr (aka me) and the pop culture nerds who were there when the Kylie Jenner saga started in the first place.

Anyway, stream Fourth Strike IMMEDIATELY.
