A Tory and a Pizza Hut manager: A day one ranking of all the Big Brother UK 2025 housemates

Big Brother UK is back for 2025, with a bunch of 12 housemates who’ve already got everyone analysing every part of their lore. It’s a real departure from the last two ITV seasons this year with a much younger feeling cast and a few influencers – which is obviously, a little bit annoying. I want real people. I want mums chain-smoking and not content creators. Still, much fun may lie ahead and I can’t wait for the drama. It was a middling premiere launch night to be honest, but I’ve got verdicts on all 12 of the Big Brother UK 2025 housemates so here’s a day one ranking of the lot of ’em!

12. Emily

Not even any particular beef with her Tory ways, even though I disagree with every single perspective she has on the world. My issue here is she’s as well known as some of the more flop celebs the show has cast on CBB and more well known than anyone else in the house for all her controversial posts. Just annoying to cast someone with 160,000 followers and multiple GB News appearances on the show.

11. Tate

Seems like a nice enough lad, but I fear he is the random white straight lad who does nothing and gets too close to the final for any of our liking because he’s too on the fence to get nominated for anything. Welcome back 2023’s Tom! Welcome back 2024’s Thomas!

Elsa was actually my favourite from her VT until I learned that this blonde Barbie Christian who speaks to and sees dead people is an influencer who is the on / off girlfriend of Ed Matthews from TikTok. Will unfortunately be a bit iconic but I can’t celebrate this.

Seems like a lovely girl even though we didn’t get the clearest vision of who she is last night. But I do ethically wrestle with the concept of putting an 18 year old on national television for seven weeks. Are you really ready at 18 even if it’s legally fine to be so in the public eye?

7. Nancy

A bit of an icon, actually. Pansexual diva speaking five languages and refusing to tell anyone she was born in Italy whilst everyone guesses she’s from Scotland. Which she also is, but denied to tell anyone that purely for attention. She’s so real for that. I love a nuisance.

6. Marcus

I love that every year on the ITV era of Big Brother that the show casts a sexy lad from Manchester and its surrounding areas. Zak, Khaled and now Marcus. Of all the Big Brother UK 2025 housemates in the day one ranking, I do think he’ll fair really well even if he’s not the pinnacle of interest right now. Seems like a very lovely lad.

5. Sam

I couldn’t believe my eyes when Sam waltzed in last night because my TikTok algorithm has served me his Pride performances up for years on the FYP. Under his artist name, Smashby. Seems like a big character and a real force for laughs and good vibes and I hope he doesn’t get evicted tonight thanks to that cruel twist.

A 39 year old Pizza Hut night manager who’s decided to start recently exploring his bisexuality. Congratulations, you’re a housemate! All I need to hear to be sold on him. Very fascinating character who is both really normal and really quirky without even trying. Love people like this.

3. Zelah

Top three housemates in the day one Big Brother UK 2025 ranking now and in third we’ve got Zelah. I don’t think there was a jaw in the UK not on the ground when he dropped the bombshell he was trans. Seems like such a great guy and I think it’s more important than ever to have trans representation on TV because if you ever needed to find a flaw with the transphobic argument then know that they want this man to use the women’s bathroom. Beyond belief.

Instant icon. Love everything about her from first glance. A queening out looms to the level none of us are yet braced for.

A total enigma who has lived 50 lives. She was briefly the fianceé of Matthew Wright. She has Shutterstock pictures with Quentin Tarantino. She’s been on Lorraine. She walked in wearing Madonna Music music video geish. She is the oldest by some margin and the most I want to have a wine with. I love middle aged women on Big Brother and out of all the UK 2025 housemates she’s the only one who could ever be at the day one ranking top spot.
