Liverpool students just can’t put ChatGPT down

Forget all-nighters at the library or critical thinking; students are now relying on AI to get through university.

AI is increasingly being used across UK unis. A study done by HEPI found that 92 per cent of students in 2025 now use AI in some way. From summarising reading to brainstorming ideas, to writing full essays, AI has clearly become a normal part of student life.

But which uni is using it the most? EssayPro conducted a study which analysed student AI patterns over a year and discovered which universities’ students are relying on AI the most, ranking them based on the average highest monthly search volume per million residents.

Based on 1,041 online interviews with full-time undergraduate students in December 2024, here’s a look at the top 10  unis where students are using AI the most for 2025.
