Replacement and ITV announcement: What’s next as Islander is axed ahead of Love Island 2025

Kyle will be replaced, but this has left ITV ‘in chaos’

Yesterday, it was reported that Love Island 2025 Islander Kyle Ashman has been axed from the show, before it’s even started. Whilst Kyle was cleared of any wrong doing, he had previously been arrested, and ITV made the decision to send him home ahead of entering the villa.

Now, according to reports, this has plunged ITV into chaos. Kyle was arrested following a machete attack that took place last month. It’s not been suggested at any point that he took part in any violence, and he was later released by police.

The attack saw masked men armed with machetes and metal poles storm a venue and attack a man over an alleged £3,000 debt. Ashman was one of two men to be arrested on suspicion of affray and bailed. Police confirmed that after the matter had been investigated, the pair were released with no further action.

Kyle has since spoken out. He said: “I fully co-operated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.”

An ITV spokesman confirmed: “For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island villa as planned.” A source further said the show had “no idea of Kyle’s past”, and added: “It’s only right he can now return home to the UK to share his side of the story and therefore bosses took the decision that it was best for him not to enter the villa.”

So, what happens next for Love Island 2025?

Kyle was only announced as part of the official Love Island 2025 cast yesterday, so this is a bit of a curveball. Guys, you know the show must go on. Love Island is Love Island, and nothing will stop the show going ahead.

It’s been reported bosses are currently looking into replacing Kyle, and then a further announcement will be made. Ahead of the show, there were a number of rumoured Islanders. Some of these were rumoured to be bombshells later on, so maybe one of them could step up?

A source told The Sun: “It looks like bosses will be replacing him. There are a lot of moving parts but once it’s all finalised they will make an announcement about who is taking his place.” The Tab has reached out to ITV for further comment.

There’s always drama with Love Island, but this much before the show has even kicked off?! I can’t keep up.
