One of the new Love Islanders has already been AXED after news of his arrest emerges
He was named in part of the cast just today, but was arrested after a machete attack last month
One of the new Islanders has already sensationally been axed. Kyle was named as part of the Love Island 2025 cast, but news of a recent arrest has meant ITV has sent him home.
According to The Sun, the publication was who alerted ITV to the allegations against Kyle Ashman, of which the show had no idea. He has since been sent home, “plunging the show into chaos.” The new series is set to kick off on Monday.
The publication has claimed Kyle was arrested following a machete attack. Despite allegations, he was later released with no further action taken. In the attack, a victim was allegedly left needing emergency treatment and nearly lost an arm. Sources said ITV was unaware of the incident, and Kyle was not flagged as part of contestant checks.
The Sun has reported Ashman was one of two men to be arrested on suspicion of affray and bailed. Police confirmed that after the matter had been investigated, the pair were released with no further action – only last month.
The attack saw masked men armed with machetes and metal poles storm a venue and attack a man over an alleged £3,000 debt. The Sun has said it’s not been suggested Ashman was part of the violence.

A source said: “This was a horrific attack which could have been even worse. Ashman may have signed up to one of the biggest shows on TV with this hanging over his head.” An ITV spokesman confirmed: “For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island villa as planned.”

Kyle has since spoken out. He said: “I fully co-operated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.”
A show source said: “ITV were entirely unaware of Kyle’s past and, as he was not charged, it was not flagged as part of Love Island’s stringent DBS checks. It’s only right he can now return home to the UK to share his side of the story and therefore bosses took the decision that it was best for him not to enter the villa.”
