So, Baba Vanga was a blind Bulgarian mystic who many believe could see into the future. She’s been called the “Nostradamus of the Balkans”. She lost her sight after a tornado accident when she was just 12, and that’s when her visions reportedly began. Before her death in 1996, she made hundreds of predictions about the world, and some of them are seriously creepy.

She’s said to have predicted big events like the election of Barack Obama, the rise of Donald Trump, and even the tragic death of Princess Diana. While not everything she said has come true, the ones that have are hard to ignore.

9/11 terror attacks

Back in 1989, Baba Vanga said, “Horror, horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing.”

Many believe this was a clear warning about the 9/11 attacks. The “steel birds” are thought to be the planes that hit the Twin Towers, and the mention of “bush” is seen as a spooky link to then-president George W. Bush.

The Kursk submarine disaster

In 1980, Baba Vanga warned that Kursk would be “covered in water and the world will weep over it.”

Well, at the time, people thought she meant the Russian city of Kursk. But 20 years later, a Russian submarine named Kursk sank in the Barents Sea, killing all 118 sailors. The world did mourn—as she said it would.

In 1984, Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was shot dead by her own bodyguards. She was wearing a saffron-coloured saree. It was the exact shade Baba Vanga described.

Natural disasters in 2022

Baba Vanga warned of extreme weather, draughts, and floods around the world. In 2022, her predictions came true. The UK saw its driest July since 1935, and other parts of Europe battled wildfires and water shortages.

Meanwhile, Australia and Asia were hit with severe floods. Sydney got eight months of rain in just four days. Japan also faced serious storms and flood warnings.

Her own death

In a 1990 interview, Baba Vanga said she would die on August 11, 1996. That’s exactly the day she passed away, in Bulgaria, at age 84.

She even said a young blind girl in France would inherit her powers. Not sure if that’s true, but hopefully she predicts something nicer like peace and harmony for a change.
