Adrian and Awhina had the same favourite MAFS moment, and it speaks volumes to their marriage

Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou had an *interesting* marriage on MAFS Australia season 12, and while most of it was overshadowed by drama, red flags, and crying, there was one moment they can both agree was their favourite.

To understand why their favourite moment is that damning, we must first recall the awful experience both parties had on the show. Right out of the gate, Awhina failed to tell Adrian about her young son until they were sitting down for a meal at their reception. Things only got worse from there, with Adrian refusing to write a letter during confessions week and later being involved in a cheating scandal with Sierah Swepstone. By the time Adrian and Awhina called their MAFS marriage off, most of us were happy Awhina was ditching the dead weight after realising just how toxic her hubby was.

There are, of course, some silver linings to every shoddy situation, and while Awhina and Adrian can seemingly agree on the favourite moment from their MAFS marriage, it’s not exactly the wholesome details you tell your grandkids.

Though they aren’t on the best of terms now, in fact, it’s looking like they aren’t even friends, Awhina and Adrian can agree on the MAFS moment that will stay with them forever. In a recent Q&A, after landing in hot water over her dream couple suggestions, Awhina revealed how her favourite moment was during her honeymoon to Fiji.

Ironically, this was Adrian’s favourite moment from his MAFS marriage to Awhina, revealing as much in a TikTok way back in March. They might not have worked out, but they’re clearly on the same wavelength.

“Me and Awhina were laughing for the next three hours,” he said in the video. “I literally couldn’t string a sentence together.”

One person responded: “From one mum to another, she’s not the first to fall asleep during mediation, she deserves the nap.”

“That was gold, that cracked me up as well! In saying that, I think I would have done the same thing,” another said.

Though obviously a cute moment, it does speak volumes to the state of Awhina and Adrian’s MAFS Australia marriage. Not only was the highlight literally DAYS into the relationship, with the weeks of chaos coming after, but the nicest moment they had together was when one of them was asleep. You really can’t make this up.
