Here’s a rundown of Billy and Dave’s adorable MAFS bromance and why it suddenly imploded

There are a few healthy relationships on MAFS Australia season 12, but with all things considered, Billy Belcher and Dave Hand are basically the only duo I can see being endgame besides Jeff and Rhi.

Obviously, Billy and Dave are in (or were in) relationships with Sierah Swepstone and Jamie Marinos, respectively, but we already know that Billy and Sierah have split following her fling with bad-boy Adrian. It’s yet to be seen whether Jamie and Dave will last, though spoilers from Australia have already revealed the ending if you want it spoiled.

Regardless of how their marriages end up, at least they’ve got each other – or have they? Sources have now claimed that Billy and Dave aren’t on good terms, something the former has denied, so let’s rundown the timeline of their unofficial MAFS marriage.

Appearing on the So Dramatic podcast, Billy could not speak more highly of his relationship with Dave.

“I may not have left with a partner, but if you can win Married at First Sight, I’ve won because I’ve come out with a best friend,” he said. “Me and him are on the phone three of four times a day, it’s probably too much if anything.”

At this point, Billy rang “Davey baby” who word for word repeated Billy’s comments about winning the show. They’re just too cute.

“We was even going to the gym together at times, which we wasn’t allowed to do, and having little spa dates. Things like that,” Billy told the MailOnline. “It was really nice to have someone there for me. And vice versa. Having Dave with me throughout the show was so important to me. I had him like a wall that I could bounce off when things got hard – someone just to listen when you needed to chat. He was amazing.”

Dave also gassed up his bestie in the interview, telling the publication: “Him and I, throughout the night, connected, looking at each other and pulling faces, and we knew that we’d get along straight away. I couldn’t wait to see him when we moved into the apartments. He really was a solid rock for me in that experiment.”

“Look, Billy was there for me in moments that I needed him, and I was there for Billy in moments that he needed me with his relationship and stuff like that.”

Like any good reality TV couple, Billy and Dave started their own joint TikTok account, where they post behind-the-scenes footage and close-ups of their friendship. Despite only having six posts, the account has nearly 90k followers and topics include bike rides around Sydney, general bestie chaos, nights out, and Billy introducing Dave and Jamie to a roast dinner for the first time.

So, why have they allegedly broken up?

We’ve seen several breakups in MAFS Australia season 12 already, and yet, this unofficial couple might be the most devastating yet. Speaking to the MailOnline, Sources claimed that Billy and Dave are heading in “different” directions, with the former ditching his bestie for solo club appearances.

“It seemed like Billy chose clout over friendship,” one source revealed, as another said, “It’s a shock to all of us. They were so close, planning all these ventures.”

Despite those damning statements, Billy told the publication: “We are tight.”
