It’s all over your FYP, so here’s the origin of the dessert quiz show sound on TikTok right now

Sometimes you hear a TikTok sound and you know exactly why it went viral. “We’ll have a look, of COURSE we’ll have a look” is straight on my mind as something that was born to go viral. And then another sound dominates the TikTok algorithm and you wonder who on earth decided to use it to become a viral meme. And this sound is EXACTLY one of them. If your TikTok FYP is anything like mine, you will currently be swamped with a sound that is basically someone listing off desserts on what sounds like a quiz show. When this audio plays, people use it to do a certain action to show how much they like each dessert. It’s extremely random, but admittedly hilarious. The origin of the TikTok dessert quiz show sound is honestly so random, and if I cared I just know you’d care too.

The sound comes from a 2024 episode of The Floor – which is a quiz show that airs on Fox in the States.

The Floor on Fox is a high-energy game show where contestants answer trivia questions while standing on a giant, interactive floor. Each question comes with four possible answers, and the floor is divided into colored zones, each representing one of those answers. Contestants must choose the zone they think is correct and stand there. If they pick the right zone, they stay in the game; if they pick wrong, they’re eliminated. As the game progresses, the stakes get higher with some zones offering extra chances or bigger rewards, while others might lead to quick exits. The goal is to stay in the game, answer questions correctly, and navigate the risky zones to build up the prize pot. It’s a fast-paced mix of trivia and strategy, where the right answer and the right move can make or break the contestant’s chances!

The sound in question on TikTok sees contestant Joey competing on The Floor, and she has to basically name the desserts she sees in the quiz show to get points.

How are people using the sound? 

Honestly, it’s hilarious. Basically people just use the sound of Joey naming the desserts and then do an action to signify how much they like each dessert she names. My favourite is the person who acts more like Nicki Minaj if she likes the dessert, but others do backflips or “wake up”. It’s probably best if I just show you.
