MAFS Australia’s Jacqui claps back at claims she’s not really a lawyer

Wait, what’s her actual job again?!

The MAFS Australia bride Jacqui Burfoot’s precise job has been a constant source of fascination. She appears as a high-flying career woman, but MAFS Australia did not elaborate on exactly what that career is. Jacqui from MAFS has claimed to be a former lawyer, a certified yoga instructor, an investment analyst, a model, a recruitment worker and the owner of a jewellery business. Now, Jacqui from MAFS has clapped back on social media at people who say she’s not really a lawyer.

In a Q&A, someone asked Jacqui, “Why say you’re a lawyer when you haven’t even been admitted? Genuinely curious!”

Jacqui responded: “Hey babe! I think you need to check your facts. I have been admitted. Do a bit more research before making accusations to a stranger on the internet. Thanks!”

Jacqui does actually have an undergraduate degree in law and finance from the University of Auckland. She also studied at the College of Law in 2019. She says she was admitted in two countries – I’m guessing Australia and New Zealand?

Her ContactOut page lists 17 different jobs from the last nine years. Apparently she did summer work experience at two law firms. She says she was a solicitor at the firm Wynn Williams for 11 months. Jacqui worked at a legal recruitment agency called Elias Recruitment from January 2024 to when she started filming MAFS Australia in that summer.

In another TikTok video, Jacqui outlined several different areas of law and finance she has had experience in. She says she has worked in civil litigation, dispute resolution, equity trusts, investment law, and legal recruitment. She is 29.
