Before and after: The Love Island cast who are ditching all their fillers since the show

One Islander spent £100k to reverse surgery

Recently, there’s been a bit of a wave of influencers and reality TV stars ditching their fillers. They’ve spoken out about opting for a more “natural look” and going back to how they looked before tweakments and getting work done. Among those are a bunch of Love Island cast members, who are sharing their new looks, after they’ve decided to ditch the cosmetic fillers.

It’s nothing new that Islanders have huge transformations before heading onto the show. They spend thousands getting work done to feel “villa ready”. Then, after they leave the show, many often go on to have even bigger transformations. However, some have said they’ve gone on to regret these choices, and are now going back on them.

Here are all the before and after pictures of contestants from Love Island who have publicly said they have removed fillers.

Samantha Kenny

Love Island 2024 star Samantha Kenny has shared a video of herself at a clinic, having work to her face reversed. In the video, her doctor said: “Less is often more in aesthetics. From the consultation, I recommended dissolving her lip filler as the proportions were off, and the migration created an unnatural look.”

He added: “After allowing the dissolve to settle, Samantha returned for her follow-up, where we refined the shape with a subtle touch of filler to restore symmetry.”

Winner Jess Harding said that after the show, she had some of her lip fillers removed. Jess works in aesthetics, so people were a bit surprised she made the choice to go back.

“So I started getting my lips done when I was 18, so I just had a standard technique,” Jess said in a video. “It does give off a little bit of like a plump look. Now this is my natural lip just plump, there’s no shape, this is the natural shape of my natural lip.”

Molly-Mae Hague

Molly-Mae Hague has been very public with saying she has had fillers removed from her face and lips, after she posted a YouTube video and got backlash. At the time, people said she had a “new face”. Molly-Mae said she’d previously been getting fillers since she was 17-years-old, after feeling insecure about her lips. However, she had a change of heart and said she wanted to “embrace her natural self”.

Speaking on a podcast, she said: “By the age of 21, I didn’t look like the same person. I literally looked like a different person. When I look back at pictures now, I’m terrified of myself. I’m like, ‘Who was that girl?’ I don’t know what happened.

“But there was this one pivotal moment where I’d gone and got loads of filler and I posted a YouTube video and I hadn’t let the filler settle and it was really swollen and a screenshot from that video, it trended on Twitter for weeks. It was horrendous. It was utterly horrendous.” She is reported to have undergone £5,800 worth of procedures having filler dissolved.

Anna Vakili

In 2021, Anna Vakili said she was reversing £100k of surgery as she wanted a more “natural look”. She then posted a TikTok, which has since been deleted, and said: “Less fillers, fuller brows and a hair colour change has really done the most.” The video showed pictures of her in the villa, compared to her now.

Speaking to The Sun, Anna said: “If I could get all the money back that I’ve spent on fillers, hair extensions, my teeth, boobs and everything like that – I would be rich!!!”

Megan Barton-Hanson

Megan has always been open about what work she’s had done, saying she had a nose job, boob job, lip fillers and veneers in her late teens. But she’s another Love Island star who has gone the opposite way and decided to have her lips dissolved.

Shaughna Phillips

Shaughna was on the 2020 winter series of the show. She’s since become a mum, and has opened up about recently making the choice to dissolve her filler.

“I realised I hadn’t seen myself without lip filler for eight years,” she told Heat. “I was so scared that I wouldn’t be able to look in the mirror, which sounds so vain. That was the biggest concern of mine. And then once I’d done it, I realised there is way more going on in the world than me worrying about having big lips.”

Olivia Attwood

Back in 2019, Olivia Attwood said she had some of her top lip filler removed, saying she had taken getting it done “too far”. She said that after visiting a cosmetic surgeon, she was “convinced” by the doctor to have some of her filler dissolved.

She said on Instagram: “I think she’s [the doctor] so right, I’ve been having lip fillers for years, probably five or six years. That lip has started to come out of the lip line and started to look really puffy – something I never wanted, so I’m actually excited to start again fresh. It looks better than it did because it was over-filled.”

Olivia had previously had lip filler and filler under her eyes, but since getting some removed has said she is “excited” to have more work in the future.

Faye Winter

Since leaving the 2021 villa, Faye has had loads of her filler removed. On Instagram she said she had a “lip flip” done, to make her lips look more shapely, but less full. She went on to say at “the biggest they were” her lips had 4ml of filler in them.

“Looking back at the photos, I probably should have done it sooner,” she added. “We all learn from our mistakes. You guys can all learn from me.”

Sharon Gaffka

During her time in the villa, Sharon had a huge row with Hugo Hammond after he called her “fake”. She clapped back, and said he didn’t always know the reasons behind why people get work done. Now, she’s said she’s had lip filler removed.

Sharon told Capital after the show: “It was more than the comments made [by Hugo] in the game, that really threw me off the edge a bit with those comments. You don’t get to see everything that happens and there’s more to that, when I brought it up to him. I

“t’s not his preference that’s the problem, it’s the negative connotations that he used. So, for me I have no issues with his preference, everyone has a preference in everything, that’s completely okay. I basically just wanted to say to him, ‘Be a bit careful with the language that you use’.”

AJ Bunker

AJ Bunker, who appeared on the 2021 series of Love Island, has had  £1,000 worth of fillers removed from her face. Posting about her choice, she thanked her doctor, and said: “As some of you may have seen, prior to Love Island I made the biggest mistake going too far with filler in the panic of feeling like I had to look a certain way for TV.

“I tried to iron out imperfections that I thought I saw on myself, however they weren’t really there. I panicked and got too much done, but didn’t see the change it made to my face. Since leaving the villa and watching my episodes back, I hardly recognised myself on the screen.”

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu

Love Island winner and All Star Ekin-Su has spoken about her cosmetic work, saying she wants to dissolve all lip filler she’s ever had. Speaking to The Guardian, she said you can no longer lie about having had work done when you “clearly have” and that she prefers the “natural” look.

“Whatever lip filler I have, I’m going to dissolve,” she said. “I didn’t like the fake look. I think natural beauty is a lot prettier.” She said this is also why she decided to go back to full brunette hair, without the blonde highlights she had previously.

When she entered the Love Island 2022 villa, it was revealed Ekin-Su had spent thousands on cosmetic work. She has had a boob job in the past, as well as spending over £1,200 on facial fillers and £4,000 on getting her teeth done.
