Do they even like each other? Inside the not so sisterly bond of MAFS Aus’ Lauren and Tamara

We were introduced to Lauren Hall in the first episode of MAFS Australia earlier this week, and while her wedding to Eliot was undoubtedly the focus, her sister Tamara stole the show and not in a good way.

Despite the small amount of screentime, Tamara was dubbed the “villain” of the first episode as she swore at her sister, called her a psycho, and then promptly stormed out of the venue. She has since defended her actions, and in a tale as old as time, she blamed the edit.

Tamara penned on an Instagram story: “I know how it looks — I watched the same episode as everyone else, and without context, I totally get it. But there’s over 18 hours of footage you didn’t see. I’ll be sharing a tell-all soon, so stay tuned! Just a little reminder — this is a reality TV show, heavily edited to get the highest ratings, and I earned the villain badge by refusing to conform.”

Despite the name, we know that reality TV is heavily edited and curated for maximum entertainment, so maybe we simply didn’t see Lauren and Tamara’s sisterly bond. Here’s what we’ve found.

Tamara and Lauren haven’t spoken in months

According to the MailOnline, Lauren chose to distance herself from Tamara following the wedding and they haven’t spoken in months. At an event later in the season, Lauren even omits her sister from the guest list – ouch!

“Things were never really the same after that wedding,’ a source said, adding that to keep the event “drama-free” they skipped Tamara’s invite.

Nicholas Stankiewicz, Lauren’s friend who was also the MC at her wedding, spoke about the sisterly bond in an interview with Daily Mail Australia earlier this week.

“Tamara’s not a bad person—she’s just extra. She’s glamorous, outspoken, and loves being the centre of attention,’ he said. “That doesn’t always translate well in these situations, but deep down, she loves Lauren. They just have a complicated relationship.”

They have a joint Instagram account but haven’t posted in years

Tamara and Lauren Hall were once incredibly close, so much so that they created a joint Instagram account brimming with candid shots and those bizarre multiple-tile pictures that were all the rage a few years back.

“Little squares of our life, business & adventures together. Just for fun!” the bio reads.

The sisters have not posted on the account since 2023 but the posts are still up and they show a different version of the relationship to what we saw on MAFS Australia.

Lauren features on her Instagram, sometimes

Tamara Hall is very active on Instagram with nearly 50k followers and over 1k posts that showcase her lavish life and sophisticated job. She has been regularly updating her grid with pictures of her family, but Lauren is notably absent from most of them.

In fact, Lauren and Tamra have not posted pictures of one another since July 2024, and according to Capital Buzz, that’s exactly when filming for season 12 took place.

Maybe we’ll see if they managed to repair their relationship when Tamara appears on MAFS next year.
