The real reason Alex and Madison from Love Is Blind didn’t get back together at the airport

Love Is Blind may have been pretty boring this season, but it’s definitely had some of the shadiest moments the series has ever seen. For example, the raging love triangle between Alex, Mason and Madison ended up with none of them together and lots of bitterness. During the most recent batch of episodes, Mason, Madison and Alex all reunited at the cast drinks and the tensions between Madison and Alex were particularly high. Mason however walked in with Meg on his arm and seemed completely unfazed by it all. Madison and Alex explained that they broke up and, despite an airport meet, they wouldn’t be getting back together no matter what Love Is Blind threw at them.

What happened at the airport in the first place?

In the fateful Love Is Blind episode, Madison and Alex both explained what happened at the airport after their pod breakup.

After filming was over, Alex reached out to Madison and asked to meet at the airport. This left Madison confused, who was still reeling from their recent breakup. However, she agreed to meet him, and when she did, she said that he wasn’t at all what she was expecting.

On the show, she said: “It was pretty clear to me that he was not the same person that I was speaking to in the pods. That was very obvious.”

When Madison asked Alex in person what he really thought of Mason (who he’d defended before in the pods), Alex apparently called him a “massive weirdo” and “super weird,” remarks which didn’t align with what he’d said previously. “But you were just defending him,” Madison explained. “That’s so bizarre to me.”

In an interview with People, Madison further explained why the two broke up. She said he was the first text she’d received after getting her phone back from the producers.

“He was like, ‘meet me at the airport. Meet me at the airport.’ And I kept being like, ‘did we not just break up?’ And he was like, ‘at least just give me a hug,’ and I was like, ‘fine.’”

“The whole time he’s just like, ‘Oh you are so beautiful, stay here with me in L.A.,’” she continued. “I’m like, ‘We just broke up.’”

Madison’s reason for not getting back with him was because she claimed that she “put my all into those pods” and if it “didn’t work then, it’s not gonna work now.”

“But I could tell that he was very much like, ‘Let’s make this work,'” she said.

The post-show discourse between Alex and Madison has been bitter

Alex has since spoken out about his relationship with Madison to People and knew they were “never meant to be,” but he wished he’d “realised that sooner.”

“I think it happened how it was supposed to happen. We were just on different pages, and I’m glad that it came out early on before we took it too far and proposed and moved on to the next level,” Alex said. “I think if I were to go back, I would do things the same way.”
