Netflix has a doc version of the Belle Gibson case that’s more wild than Apple Cider Vinegar

People are saying you need to ‘stop what you’re doing and watch now’

Just when you thought you might be over Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix has just added a documentary version of the Belle Gibson case. Apple Cider Vinegar was a dramatised version of events, whereas this one is completely real, and shows Belle herself.

Belle Gibson is an Australian influencer, who claimed to have cured terminal brain cancer through alternative therapies and nutrition. Everyone wanted to know her story, so she quickly grew a huge platform. Belle created The Whole Pantry mobile app and its cookbook.

Belle claimed to have been diagnosed with many cancer pathologies, all of which she said she had managed to cure naturally. She put this down to diet, nutrition and natural supplements. She also claimed she had been donating a huge sum of her profits to charities. But, it was all a lie.

The docuseries The Search For Instagram’s Worst Con Artist investigates Belle Gibson’s many claims, as well as her rise and fall from the spotlight. All of this is what inspired the series, Apple Cider Vinegar. The documentary was first aired on ITV, in 2023.
