It won Apple’s Best Food and Drink App award in 2013
Apple Cider Vinegar just dropped on Netflix and explores the real life story of Belle Gibson, an Australian who scammed the world into believing she not only had cancer but claimed she had completely cured herself using natural remedies.
Belle Gibson used her fake illness to gain a huge online following after claiming she had cured herself of her brain tumour, and also launched her own app called The Whole Pantry alongside a cookbook.

However, everything started to crumble in 2015 when she started getting investigated for her contributions to charity, as she would use her huge platform to fundraise for various charities.
It was soon discovered that she hadn’t actually donated any of the money and through that, her lies about her cancer diagnosis were also exposed.

However, by the time of removal, it had been downloaded a whopping 300,000 times with users paying $3.79 per month for the app.
It was so popular it even won Apple’s Best Food and Drink App of 2013 and was set to be released as a default app when Apple released their watches the following year.
