What Love Is Blind’s Dave actually does for a job that makes him so ‘shallow’ about looks

Love Is Blind is back for season eight and Dave, the 33-year-old who works in the aesthetics industry, is standing out for all the wrong reasons.

He shocked everyone in episode one after revealing his job means he’s around women with plastic surgery all day and it’s made him really “shallow”.

Dave then straight-up admitted that he usually messes women around, but he’s gone on the show to try and change those bad habits.

He gave off major red flags as soon as he started opening up every conversation by asking the women: “What’s wrong with you?”

So, what does Dave actually do? Let’s take a look at his life and job outside the pods.

Inside Dave’s problematic aesthetics job

His full name is David Bettenburg and a quick look at his LinkedIn reveals that during the show, he worked in medical device sales at a company called Sofwave Medical.

The aesthetic medicine company is based in Israel with headquarters in California, United States, although Dave worked in Chicago and Minneapolis.

His job specifically involved promoting medical equipment, products and services associated with plastic surgery to hospitals and medical centers.

So, he doesn’t have a medical background and wasn’t the one doing the plastic surgery, he just sold and advertised the products that the aestheticians use.

He probably had to visit plastic surgery clinics, but to say he was constantly surrounded by botox, face lifts and tummy tucks seems like a bit of a stretch.

He seems to have had a big career change

However, from his LinkedIn profile, it looks like he’s quit the aesthetics industry as he now works as an Account Executive at Veritext.

It’s a legal company that provides skilled court reporters, advanced technology, and services to law firms.

So, he seems to have had a complete change in career since Love Is Blind was filmed last year from medical sales to law.

Dave’s always at other people’s weddings

He doesn’t post on Instagram much, but a little scroll reveals he’s constantly going to other people’s weddings – but never his own!

Basically, every recent post is of him celebrating a friend’s marriage, although he’s clearly never had much luck in his own love life.

His Love Is Blind profile said the two most important people to him are his dad and sister, and there are a few family pics on his feed too.

However, he’s not exactly giving off those nice family man vibes in the pods. He’s just a walking red flag!

Will Lauren be the one to change his ways? We’ll have to wait and see.
