Inside Luca Bish’s very controversial and lavish friendship with Conor McGregor

It really is a small world because if you asked me to put together a Love Island contestant and celebrity it definitely wouldn’t be Luca Bish and Conor McGregor.

Considering they are semi-normal people before going on Love Island, it’s easy to forget that Islanders become celebrities in their own right after leaving. Naturally, that brings them into proximity with other more mainstream celebrities and friendships are born.

Unfortunately, not all of those friendships serve to uplift the reputations of the former Islanders – case and point, Luca Bish and Conor McGregor.

How long have Luca Bish and Conor McGregor been friends?

In May 2023, Conor McGregor flew Luca Bish out to the BKFC 41 event in Denver, Colorado, to watch the Perry versus Rockhold fight. They shared pictures from the event that also showcased the lavish private jet they travelled in and the bottle of Proper No Twelve whisky they sipped on during the flight.

A month later, Luca joined his new pal at the F1 Monaco Grand Prix as they were pictured living the high life on the boxer’s Lamborghini yacht that came complete with two bedrooms, 4,000 horsepower, and a top speed of 70 mph. Then, in August, they were again pictured enjoying one another’s time at Anthony Joshua versus Robert Helenius.

Speaking to talkSPORT about the unlikely friendship, Luca said: “It’s an unlikely match, isn’t it? Yeah, it’s a random pairing and I think it shocked a lot of people when they see we are friends.”

While the two men seem to genuinely enjoy each other’s company, Luca also theorised that it could benefit him massively if he decides to enter the world of amateur fighting. Watch out Tommy Fury, Luca’s coming for your gig!

After Luca’s first disastrous stint in Love Island saw him branded toxic and a glaring red flag, he worked to undo his reputation on other shows such as Celebrity MasterChef. Unfortunately, hitching to Conor McGregor had the opposite effect.

Just recently, someone said on Twitter: “Just a reminder that Luca is STILL friends with Conor McGregor, that should tell you everything about the person he is.”

“Conor McGregor very famous boxer, Luca goes out with him & goes on holiday with him & was recently with him in November. Both Luca & Grace approve of who Conor is,” another person wrote.

Omg, turns out Grace Jackson knows him too!

With Grace and Luca currently in a couple on season two of Love Island All Stars, pictures of Grace’s time with Conor McGregor have also resurfaced on Twitter. The images showed Grace and a bunch of other women dressed as Forged Irish Stout ring girls, one of Conor’s alcohol companies.

When Grace was originally on Love Island, Conor even shared a supportive message calling for his followers to vote for her: “Vote for our Grace tonight on Love Island! We are with you, Grace!”
