This perfect Buffy fan storyline proves how these three dead characters can return in reboot
This would be so iconic
One of the most agonising things about how Buffy the Vampire Slayer is coming back for a reboot sequel is the difficult pill to swallow that a load of characters we love are dead. Obviously, this is Buffy – characters being dead is hardly like them being dead in a show that isn’t heavily focussed on the supernatural. But Buffy the Vampire Slayer was always pretty great at making deaths of characters feel impactful when a lot of supernatural shows cheapen it by having people come back from the beyond all the bastard time. American Horror Story: Coven, catch the shade. But one fan has drafted up the most perfect plot ever to get some dead characters back in the cast of the Buffy reboot sequel and it’s so perfect I can overlook any contrived cheesiness for the sake of blissful fan service.
I need Chloe Zhao, Hulu and Sarah Michelle Gellar to see the following TikTok from a Buffy superfan and hire her as script supervisor, because trust me when I tell you we’re going to need this.

@thefinalgurl13 The Buffy the Vampire Slayer revival has to bring back Cordelia. In a video about how to bring back specifically Cordelia, filmmaker and content creator @thefinalgurl13 writes pretty much the perfect third episode for the Buffy reboot sequel.
“In my version and I’m pretty sure the version that’s going to be released, Buffy is the mentor to a new Slayer. I think it would need to happen in episode three. The Watcher’s Council, which is now run by Willow, Giles, Dawn and Andrew – they tell Buffy that she’s been summoned by The Powers that Be. That her and the new Slayer need to bring a gift to them. The entrance is in some sort of mystical crypt.
“Buffy and the new Slayer agonise over what they’re going to bring as a gift, they finally decide it can be something symbolic to the series. When they get inside the crypt there’s a giant door and they open it and as they walk through they are in a giant room lined with expensive clothing. The new Slayer turns to Buffy and says ‘The Powers that Be live in a department store?’
“We then see a single perfectly manicured hand sliding clothes over the rack, and a familiar voice says ‘don’t underestimate the power of a good fashion moment’. She turns around and it’s Cordelia! Buffy says ‘Cordelia? You’re the Powers that Be?’ and Cordelia says ‘I always told you I was queen bee, Buffy.’
“And then we hear another familiar voice peak out through the stacks of clothes. An arm holding a really gaudy and tacky dress. And she says ‘Hey hey, remember, this was a group project. It’s the reason I got outvoted and we couldn’t get rid of bunnies.’ And it’s Anya.
“Buffy then starts to smile as she realises what’s going on. And then we hear a sweet familiar voice come from behind. ‘Anya, how many times have I told you? We don’t need money here. What we’re doing is good, and bunnies are good.’ And we see Tara come from behind Buffy with a white rabbit.”
For those who need a reminder, Anya died in the finale of season seven by the sword of an Ubervamp. Tara was murdered with a stray bullet shot by Warren Mears in season six. Cordelia died and ascended to a higher plain in Angel.
The TikTok continues: “Buffy starts to get emotional. They tell her they were chosen to be The Powers that Be and be her guardian angel. When Willow invoked the goddess and unlocked all the Slayers, it made the Divine Collective only naturally choose the three of them. That the trio have the brains, beauty, empathy, love and care to truly rule the magic world. They then let Buffy know that because she’s broken the rule of magic and severed her line and come back several times, she’s kind of one her final strike. And that they are going to be in a way god mothers to her, and will be watching over her moving forward.
“I think it’s a way you can bring these original [dead characters] cast members back [for the Buffy reboot] who are so beloved in the fandom without having to truly explain HOW they’re back. It’s a great way to have them pop in from time to time in episodes. All three of them or separately.”
I need all these dead characters back to return in the Buffy reboot sequel right now so PLEASE, take this diva’s advice as gospel! Hire her!
