Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are the closest thing the USA has to a royal family in my books, and a relationship expert has weighed in on just how much they have impacted each other. You see, the girlfriend effect is a very real thing and it turns normal-looking boyfriends into drop-dead gorgeous hunks. Here’s what a relationship expert had to say about Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce and the girlfriend effect.
Dr LaShandra Batiste-Manary claims that although Travis Kelce has always been known for his “bold” and “eccentric” style, his look has become “noticeably more polished.”
One of the biggest changes he’s made to his appearance is his hair. Travis, who previously had a close-cropped buzz cut, has been growing his hair out, and according to his teammate and friend Patrick Mahomes, Taylor might be the reason why.

“I’ve been trying to get him to grow it out for a while, but Taylor says something, and suddenly he’s doing it,” Mahomes joked.
Dr LaShandra Batiste-Manary says his transformation is an exact case of the “girlfriend effect.”
“It’s incredibly common for people to refine their look in a new relationship, whether consciously or subconsciously,” she explains. “Partners influence each other, and in this case, Travis’s refined style likely reflects the dynamic and confidence he’s gained from being with Taylor.”
