Inside the Tuxedo Society, Instagram’s newest rich kid club cosplaying ‘old money’ for clout

‘Attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places’

From TikTok houses to elaborate debutante balls, we are used to an elite few partying away in their ivory towers as the rest of us toil away at everyday life. The Tuxedo Society is no different.

Twitter, TikTok, and even Reddit have been flooded with images and videos of admittedly gorgeous people in equally gorgeous locations. There’s not a Stone Island t-shirt or pair of Air Max in sight and the members are almost always dressed to the nines in tuxedos, slinky dresses, and outfits you could definitely see huge nepo babies wearing.

The posts are inescapable, but recently, Twitter user Louis Pisano pulled back the curtain on the events, claiming: “Sorry to burst the fantasy but I know one of the girls in this video and none of this is casual or real… it’s an ‘Instagram club’ where if you get accepted you get to pay to dress up and make ‘old money content with them.”

Consider my fantasy shattered, but what actually goes on at The Tuxedo Society and how much does it cost to join?

Here are the deets

According to their website, The Tuxedo Society was born for those who want to “elevate their network” and create friendships with like-minded people who want “experiences in the most iconic locations” in the world. It was founded by classic car dealer Riccardo Capotosti.

“Having access to this elite club will give you the opportunity to connect with enlightened people from all over the world,” it adds.

There are currently two websites for the Tuxedo Society, sometimes referred to as The Tuxedo Members Club, with the first detailing the general vibe and the second hosting the application. The latter website is currently down as it waits to open applications, but Louis managed to grab some screenshots.

The three membership requirements are:

  • You need to make over €500k per year or have a net worth of over seven figures
  • You need to be approved by the team after filling out the application
  • You need to make an introduction call with one of our board members

Once you’re accepted into the elite club you’re expected to cough up an annual fee of €6k, but if you choose to not renew your membership then your spot is given to someone else.

Their mantra, which is plastered across their Instagram and website, reads: “Attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places.”

The kind of people you’d catch at Tuxedo Society

By stalking The Tuxedo Society’s Instagram you can get a pretty good picture of who is shelling out money each month to hang out at “iconic” locations such as Lake Como in Italy. In fact, Lake Como seems to be the only location they spend time at – hardly the rich kind jet setter image they have created.

Should you join yourself, you could be brushing shoulders with Federico Di Custoza, an influencer with 20k followers and an Instagram that resembles a Pinterest board, or Chiara Basso, a law student and model.

The most impressive member is undoubtedly Eugenia Hannover, a model who is also part of the 17th-century European royal house, the House of Hannover.

What do they do at The Tuxedo Society

Though its Instagram resembles a scene from Saltburn, with members playing tennis in formal attire and sipping cocktails by the pool, Louis Pisano alleged that it’s a smoke screen. Upon deeper inspection, it resembles a bulk standard content house – just with a bit more glamour.

Nonetheless, should you choose to spend your hard-earned cash on membership here’s what you could be getting up to:

  • Posing with vintage cars, which funnily enough are from the founder’s business – can someone say clever marketing?
  • Lavish dinner parties that include pizza
  • Fireworks
  • Editing a lot of footage for fun Instagram reels
  • Boat rides
  • Lots – and I mean LOTS – of posing for pictures
  • Sports in inappropriate clothing

Look, I know it’s all completely fake, but I do love a good aesthetic. Where do I sign up? Can someone lend me the money to join this Great Gatsby fever dream?
