Influencer who’s suing over a screaming toddler on her plane sparks debate about plane etiquette

Now don’t get me wrong, whilst the sound of screaming children isn’t exactly the most relaxing thing to hear on a plane I think it’s pretty unrealistic of us to just expect them not to be allowed on planes. Right? Well, as it turns out one influencer who went viral on TikTok after refusing to swap seats with a crying toddler on a plane has revealed her plans to sue the passenger who recorded her.

Right, so let’s have a quick debrief about what exactly happened on that viral plane video and what she’s said since.

Jeniffer Castro got on her flight in Brazil but found there was a toddler in her window seat. The child’s mother explained they wanted to look out of the window, however, Jeniffer cleared up that she’d specifically booked that seat.

As such she asked the woman if she could move her toddler from her window seat and it didn’t go down too well. The mother started filming Jeniffer, saying: “I’m recording your face, this is disgusting. It’s the 21st century and people have no empathy for children.”

The video then went viral, but Jennifer has since spoken out about what really happened and revealed her plans to take legal action.

She appeared on the Cola Mais Podcast and was asked about the possibility of legal action against the mother or airline company.

She revealed: “Measures are now being taken. What I went through wasn’t easy. The flight attendants could have asked me if I needed anything, or if I was bothered by the passenger, but they didn’t. They stayed out of it.”

Jeniffer claimed when she got on board the plane she told the pair of them it was “her seat” and “waited for them to leave.”

She added: “A guy across the aisle said ‘change with him, you sit next to the aisle and he’ll have your place.'” After taking her seat, Jeniffer claimed the mother was “very rude” with her child “crying the entire flight, it was around 50 minutes from Rio de Janeiro to Belo Horizonte.” Yikes.

And it seems there’s fierce debate online about who is in the right, with some claiming she definitely should have given up her seat since the flight was so short, whilst others said that kids should be banned from flights altogether. Either way, there’s nothing like a viral plane video to get everyone riled up one way or another.
