They’re both mega successful, but who’s richer: Sam Thompson or Zara McDermott?

We’re still in the wake of Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson’s break up, and the dust is yet to settle. Zara even mentioned Sam in a strange post recently, and it’s the first time she’s spoken about him since the split.

But when they called it quits, it wasn’t just their relationship that became a hot topic, but their finances quickly became part of the discussion too. Back when they were together, they reportedly had a combined net worth of over £3.1 million. But now they’re no longer together and living together, the question remains to how it’s going to financially impact them, and what will happen to their iconic London home.

So, is Zara McDermott or Sam Thompson richer?

After rising to fame on Love Island, Zara quickly made a name for herself in film and TV, going on to host a series of documentaries on a range of hard hitting topics. Boasting over teo million Instagram followers, she often posts brand collabs and uses her platform as another source of income. Her income from Instagram has been estimated to be between £10,400 and £14,300.

According to accounts filed to Companies House, Zara’s wealth grew from from £142,726 in 2022 to £309,913 in 2023, after her stint on Strictly Come Dancing helped her land a brand partnership with L’Oreal and also launch her own clothing range Rise, that’s stocked in Tesco.

As for Sam. his legacy on Made In Chelsea from 2013 to 2018 meant he definitely racked in cash – and that’s before he launched his Staying Relevant podcast with his bestie, Pete Wicks. And of course, he recently flew out to Aus to work on the 2024 series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! which no doubt paid well.

Sam is said to be worth over £1 million, reportedly having a staggering £955,227 in the bank and having paid £195,248 in corporation tax in 2023. This suggests he made well over £1 million in 2023 alone.

So despite them both being majorly successful, it’s pretty clear that Sam Thompson is richer than Zara McDermott. He also has around 700k more followers, which will no doubt contribute to his huge earnings also.
