Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott secretly split ‘weeks ago’ and she’s already moved out

So, despite reports of the split between Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott only coming in on New Year’s Day it turns out they’ve actually been split up for weeks and Zara’s already moved out of their shared home.

On New Year’s Day, MailOnline reported that Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson had decided to split and go their separate ways after almost five years together.

An insider claimed: “Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and have a lot of love for each other.

“But after a tough year of working hard at their romance, they have split and will be focusing on their individual careers going forward into 2025.”

However, Zara and Sam actually split up weeks before New Year’s, despite him telling her just two weeks prior to the news breaking that she was his “soulmate.” Following their split Zara moved out of their shared home as soon as possible and immediately jetted off to Paris to help get away from everything.

A source revealed to The Sun: “It’s been a tough time for Zara. The trip to Paris just helped her get away from it all. Zara just wants to try to focus on work and get herself together. They split some time before it officially emerged and she is now living apart from him.”

As for the reason behind their split, it seems that Zara’s previous cheating scandal massively affected the couple, with the pair “never really recovering” from her actions.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Zara and Sam’s relationship just never had felt like it was heading for the long haul. They never really recovered from Zara’s cheating, most couples would have struggled lasting for as long as they did afterwards.

“Zara had some big making up to do, especially with Louise, she really wasn’t happy when Sam took her back. But she managed to make it work and they had some great times together again, but it just felt like it was never going to be truly serious.”
