Spotted!? Squid Game ‘error’ involving Dae-ho could hint at villanous arc in season three
Finally, a crazy theory that low-key has legs
While we were all discussing Gi-hun’s obvious love for the Front Man and the shocking ages of the Squid Game cast, Kang Dae-ho’s potentially villainous arc in season three was flying under the radar.
Dae-ho was a new character in Squid Game season two, but admittedly we know very little about him besides his alleged marine background and penchant for running away when sh*t gets hard. But, according to a running theory on Twitter, the mystery surrounding him might be a deliberate choice by director Hwang Dong-hyuk. Take a look and decide for yourself.
Player 388 is currently the subject of an editing error
In episode two, moments after hundreds of players were gunned down by everyone’s favourite creepy robot in Red Light, Green Light, the players were given the chance to quit the games and take the prize money. Of course, the catch was they had to vote and we all know how infuriating public votes can be. I’m looking at you, I’m A Celeb.
After Seong Gi-hun cast his vote, Player 388 is called forward but it’s a completely different dude to Kang Dae-ho. This slip-up was not missed by people on Twitter.
#KangHaneul STOLE THE SHOW BROOO. I NEED TO KNOW MORE. WHAT'S HIS BACKSTORY? HOW IS HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS DAD? WHY DID HE COME TO THE GAMES? HOW'S HIS FAMILY? HELLO I NEED MOREEEE OF HIM!!! I REFUSE TO BELIEVE HE IS JUST PLAYER 388!!#SquidGame2 #KangDaeHo pic.twitter.com/zSWZNUDqL4

“During the Squid Game voting, a potbellied man steps forward as player 388. His scene is abruptly cut to Gi-hun & Jung-bae. How’s player 388 magically turn from a short-haired, middle-aged-looking man into a semi-long-haired, macho young guy named Dae-ho in just one day?” one person questioned.
By the next episode, Player 388 is Kang Ha-neul’s Dae-ho and the series plays out as expected.
It might be an error, but some think it’s a hint to Dae-ho’s future

Though this might just be another Squid Game editing error, the same person who noticed the blunder also called into question whether it’s part of a hidden plot in the upcoming season three.
“Kang Han-eul is nowhere in eps 1-3. He suddenly pops up in ep 4, about the same time the frontman joins the game,” they said. “Dae-ho introduces himself only to Gi-hun & Jung-bae when the frontman stopped staring at him and just looked down as if telling him ‘one wrong move & our act is done.’”
The running theory is that Dae-ho is actually the Front Man’s henchman, there to keep an eye on him and lend a hand if needed. Though it’s a little sketchy, the rest of Twitter seemed keen on the idea.
“I noticed this and thought I was going crazy!” someone said.
I don’t know, I’m kind of feeling this one guys.
