Inside Vin Diesel’s beef with The Rock after their fiery feud reignited at Golden Globes

Yikes! You could cut the tension between Vin Diesel and The Rock during the 2025 Golden Globes after Vin Diesel appeared to reignite their long standing feud whilst presenting.

During the Golden Globes, Vin Diesel walked out onto the stage and immediately made eye contact with The Rock, who was sitting in the front, before saying: “Hey Dwayne.” Given their icy past, it’s of no surprise that The Rock chose to remain silent and instead very awkwardly smiled.

But what exactly happened between The Rock and Vin Diesel that meant their Golden Globes exchange was so horrific? Let’s find out!

Their icy feud first started in 2016 after they’d finished filming for one of the Fast and Furious films, with The Rock releasing a shady now deleted post on Instagram.

He wrote: “My female costars are always amazing and I love’em. My male costars, however, are a different story.

“Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken sh*t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.

“When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling — you’re right.”

An insider told People: “Vin has been having problems with The Rock because The Rock keeps showing up late for production. Sometimes he doesn’t show up at all, and he’s delaying the production.”

Vin Diesel spoke out about his alleged rift with The Rock five years later, telling Men’s Health that there was a lot of tension between the pair on set.

He revealed: “It was a tough character to embody, the Hobbs character. My approach at the time was a lot of tough love to assist in getting that performance where it needed to be.

“As a producer to say, ‘Okay, we’re going to take Dwayne Johnson, who’s associated with wrestling, and we’re going to force this cinematic world, audience members, to regard his character as someone that they don’t know.”

As for what The Rock thought about Vin Diesel’s comment, he admitted: “One part of me feels like there’s no way I would dignify any of that bullsh*t with an answer.

“I’ve been around the block a lot of times. Unlike [Diesel], I did not come from the world of theatre. And, you know, I came up differently and was raised differently.”

He added: “And if I feel that there’s some things that need to be squared away and handled and taken care of, then I do it. And it’s just that simple. So when I read that, just like everybody else, I laughed.”

Hopefully, the interaction between The Rock and Vin Diesel at the Golden Globes was just playful and not the start of yet another feud between the pair because I honestly don’t think I have the strength.
