If you asked a lot of people what they wanted from the final of Gavin and Stacey, I’d tenner bet a lot of them would tell you they wanted to know once and for all what actually happened on the fishing trip. I am not necessarily one of those people considering the entire point of the running joke across all those 17 years of Gavin and Stacey is that we DON’T know what happened on the fishing trip – but after last night’s documentary Fond Farewell special for Gavin and Stacey showed us new footage we have never seen before from the fishing trip here is an actual full rundown of everything we DO know for sure happened between Bryn and Jason on that infamous day.

It took place in August 1994

Gwen confirmed in the final episode that it took place 30 years ago. The Gavin and Stacey book merch too said that it took place on a Saturday in August of that year, too – so it checks out.
