Zaina hits out at J.R. after reunion for ‘disrespectful’ behaviour on The Ultimatum
She admitted she didn’t know ANYTHING until after the show
The Ultimatum season three reunion brought SO much drama between Zaina and J.R. The truth behind J.R. and Sandy’s sneaky rendezvous all came to light after the episodes had aired and Zaina could see what happened for herself. However, the reunion, which was filmed before the episodes were released onto Netflix, only gave us half a story. Zaina opened up to podcast host Nick Viall about what she thought about everything now it’s all over and she’s seen every angle of what went down.
“I went all in, I was ready to do the experiment with J.R. as you know, but I was also very adamant about what I needed. and I was just met with a lot of lies,” Zaina explained on The Viall Files.
“I was nervous going into the experiment but he reassured me that our relationship had a strong enough foundation to withstand the experiment. He didn’t want to go through any boundaries but I left that thinking we would still have mutual respect. Like if you loved me like you said you loved me, you would go through this experiment and still respect me, bare minimum.”
She also explained how she “never met” the J.R. who’s “dating Sandy.”
“My friends and family watching this who actually spent time with him were jaws to the ground. They were like ‘who even is this person,'” she said.

“The way he was with Sandy was kind of like the way he was with me during our honeymoon phase, minus the over-sexualisation. That is crazy, I’ve never heard any of those things come out of his mouth before. The fact that he was doing all of that in 4k and never came clean to me is absolutely ridiculous. I found out about everything watching it back with y’all. I’m not seeing what all the other viewers are watching.” You can’t hide from Netflix producers, that’s for sure!
Where do Zaina and J.R. stand now?
Right now, Zaina told TODAY.com that their relationship is “non-existent.”
“It’s unfortunate because I am a very understanding person. I like to have conversations, and I feel like if he had taken accountability in any way, shape or form, we could have been cordial. But he avoided any real conversation,” she admitted.
“So it’s like almost passing a stranger on the street. We run into each other at events and I don’t even look his way, because everything that happened was so disrespectful to the 10th degree.”
Zaina did say she was happy that everything “came to light” and she has found peace at the end of her relationship.
“It sucks that I had to go through that experience, but I feel like sometimes God has a way of revealing things. And it was clear: J.R. and I were not meant to be together and he needed to be removed,” she said.
At the reunion, she explained J.R. told her it was Sandy who came onto her all along. “When we switched back over, J.R. was very much so, like, ‘nothing happened. Sandy was the one that initiated everything.’ He was saying all these things to downplay everything to the point where I believed him, and I was just like, ‘there’s nothing for me to worry about,'” she claimed.
“After the show he never gave me closure, or he refused to have real conversations. I didn’t know anything that happened between him and Sandy until last month, before we shot the reunion,” she said.
Zaina’s family have been “very upset” on her behalf after knowing J.R. for the extent of their previous relationship.
“They’re thanking God I’m out of that toxic situation. They’re just pouring a lot of love into me, but also like, ‘please, just stay away from him,'” she said. Ouch!
