Lancaster University Management School ranked amongst the best in Europe

This is based upon the school’s overall performance

The Financial Times has listed LUMS in the top Business Schools in Europe following a new publication list for 2024.

The Management School featured at 76th in Europe and 13th in the UK.

The list, published earlier this week, once again features LUMS in its rankings, as has been the case since 2010.

The rankings are based upon the schools over all performance in education and schools must have at least one FT ranked Master’s programme, or two executive courses to qualify. Further criteria for assessment includes a multitude of factors such as: The salaries of alumni three years after graduating, career progression, the research of faculty and the diversity of staff and students.

Within LUMS’ Executive Master’s in business administration and Master’s in management programme, alumni have been reportedly receiving an increase by 58 per cent and 41 per cent in salaries respectively, three years after graduating.

The ranking comes after LUMS was previously ranked within the top five UK Business School for the impact in research. The school ranked fifth in research impact based upon the characteristics of: Rigour, resonance, and relevance.

Yet the most recent ranking focuses on the quality of the Management School as a whole.

Executive Dean of LUMS, Professor Claire Leitch said: “This prestigious ranking confirms that LUMS is once again positioned among the best business schools in the world, which is fantastic to see’ and that the ranking “is testament to the consistency and high quality of our programmes and the dedication of our exceptional staff and students”.

Physically, the school is continuing to be expanded following a redevelopment of the school in 2021 and the current £16 million refurbishment of the eastern portion of the Management School complex.
